Bryan Mitchell will most likely work in tomorrow’s game. He may start the game and just try to give the Yankees 3 or 4 innings, and then bridge the game together with Severino and the rest. Regardless, Mitchell is being called up today and it is quite astounding considering most experts thought he would miss the entire season. In his rehab he has made two starts and gone for a combination of 9 innings. Allowing just one run 8 hits, 2 walks, and 14 strike outs. Depending on how Mitchell pitches he could possibly fill in for Chad Green for the rest of the season.
Also coming up is LHP James Pazos. The lefty has also been rehabbing most of the season, and proved to be a really good part of the Yankee bullpen down the stretch last season. He appeared in 11 games, and 5 combined innings of scoreless baseball while not allowing one run, and just three hits. This year has an ERA of 2.32 over 31 innings. Striking out 47 and walking 20 and allowing 22 hits. He has gotten better as he has progressed this season and looks to definitely help the Yankees out of the pen.
