Credit Where It’s Due: Blake Parker Has Been Solid Since Joining Yanks

The Yankees claimed Blake Parker off waivers on August 10. Interestingly most Yankee fans collectively groan when he comes in the game, but he has been solid in his tenure with the Yankees.

Since joining the Yankees Parker has thrown 13.1 innings. He has allowed 4 runs; however, 3 of them came in a third of an inning against the Royals. If you take out that outing Parker has thrown 13 innings, allowing just 1 run, 8 hits, and striking out 12.

Parker has come up big for the Yankees several times this season. Though he may not be the reliever that you want to see in the game. He has proven that he has the ability to build some nice depth within the Yankee bullpen.

Blake Parker is not going to be one of your big three, but he does deserve credit and praise for the job he has done. He could prove to be a welcomed addition to the Yankees once mangled middle relief staff.
