Yankees Call Up Donovan Solano

After Starlin Castro went down with an apparent right handed hamstring injury last week. The Yankees have selected and purchased the contract of Donovan Solano.

Earlier this year the Yankees signed Solano to a minor league deal. He was originally with the Miami Marlins.

He batted .319 this year with the Yankees in AAA. In his short time with Miami he batted .189.

This move is most likely just to add some depth and experience in the infield. In correspondence to this move the Yankees transferred Chad Green over to the 60 day DL to make room on the roster.

  1. The more the merrier. The more the Yankees brain trust sees of these guys in minors and what if anything they can do at the big league level with the Yankees the better.
