Kyle Higashioka Added To The 40 Man Roster

In one of the more questioned decisions the Yankees were facing this off-season,  the Yankees have decided to protect Kyle Higashioka from the rule 5 draft today. He batted .276 this year in the minors with 21 long balls and 81 runs batted in.

With this move it is now almost certain that Austin Romine will be moved this off season. With the Yankees carrying four catchers now, someone will have to go. McCann provides power from the left side and a guaranteed presence as a back up and mentor to Gary Sanchez.
