Prior to today’s game the Yankees sent Aroldis Chapman to the 10 day DL with left shoulder rotator cuff inflammation. It is retroactive to May 13; however, this is a large and potentially very worrisome problem. Anytime that you are dealing with something in the rotator cuff area, you’re always worried something could be seriously wrong.
This comes as somewhat of a surprise even though Chapman has struggled over the last two weeks and had to be pulled early in consecutive outings. The Yankees made a corresponding roster move by bringing Chad Green back from AAA, and they added Rob Refsnyder for the double header.
